St. Andrew Avellino Roman Catholic Church

Queens, New York

St. Andrew Avellino Roman Catholic Church is the only church in America with St. Andrew Avellino as its patron saint. This church was organized in 1914, some 300 years after Avellino’s death. In 2006 the property was placed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Broadway-Flushing Historic District. The campus includes a school and convent that opened in 1925, a school addition from 1980, the Cathedral constructed in 1940 and Rectory from 1943. It has been recognized as an outstanding example of neo-Romanesque and American Art Deco Architecture.

Jenkins Architecture has been involved in masonry restoration projects throughout the property. The work has included waterproofing, masonry restoration and parapet replacement.
