Restoration Documentation

The First Ukrainian Assembly of God, Cornerstone Church is located at 59 Cooper Square in New York City. The property was designed by architect Carl Pfeiffer and constructed in 1867 as the Metropolitan Savings Bank. The building is a NYC Individual Landmark since designation in 1967. In 1867, the bank was lauded at the time as the only fully “fireproof” building in Manhattan. The Ukrainian church purchased the property in 1937 and it has served a religious function for nearly a century.

Jenkins Architecture is currently working on the restoration documents for the first complete exterior restoration ever on the façade. The scope will include stone repair and replacement, sheet metal repairs and roofing.
